Elon football made some fireworks on the recruiting trail on Independence Day.
Class of 2025 defensive back/athlete Tyler Hart from Baltimore powerhouse Dunbar High School announced his commitment to the Phoenix program on Thursday, July 4.
Hart looks ready to follow older brother Tony Hart III to the Elon campus. Tony Hart is a redshirt freshman defensive back on the Phoenix roster, who appeared in four games a year ago. Dunbar High has won the last three Maryland 2A/1A state championships.
Tony Hart was the Dunbar team MVP in 2022, with eight interceptions and 80 tackles as well as 1,132 receiving yards and 10 offensive touchdowns.
Tyler Hart checks in at 6-2, 180 pounds. He played cornerback and wide receiver at Dunbar in 2023. He’s also listed as a free safety. His HUDL highlight reel from last season shows multiple interceptions and pass break-ups. Tyler Hart also played on the 2022 Dunbar championship team.
Hart reported an offer from Charlotte on 247 Sports and On3.
