The Carolina Panthers return from their bye week and visit the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon, looking to build on one of their most impressive offensive performances of the season.
Carolina (2-2) has averaged more than 30 points per game through its first four contests, including a 32-26 victory over Detroit on Sunday Night Football in its most recent outing. Quarterback Bryce Young threw for 329 yards against the Lions, with Tetairoa McMillan hauling in 14 passes for 192 yards and two touchdowns.
Philadelphia (2-3), meanwhile, has dropped three consecutive games after opening the season with back-to-back victories. The Eagles’ latest setback came Sunday in London, where Jacksonville rallied for a 19-17 victory on a field goal as time expired.
The matchup pits Carolina’s high-powered offense against an Eagles team struggling to score points and dealing with mounting injuries, particularly at running back and offensive line.

🔍 What to Know About Panthers-Eagles
Bryce Young, Panthers look to keep momentum rolling
The Panthers have alternated losses and wins thus far but carried a heavy dose of momentum into their bye week after beating the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football on Oct. 4. Quarterback Bryce Young directs one of the NFL’s most productive offenses, which is averaging better than 30 points per game.
The bye week, though early in the schedule, may have come at a good time for Carolina, which has been banged up at several positions through the first month of the season.
NFC East champs reeling, coming off London loss
Philadelphia, which won the NFC East a year ago, opened the season 2-0 but has since lost three in a row. The third defeat may have been the toughest to swallow. Philadelphia booted a go-ahead field goal in the final seconds but allowed a big kickoff return. Jacksonville then drilled a long field goal of its own to swipe the win.
Like Carolina, Philadelphia has had injury issues and has struggled especially to get its offense untracked. The Eagles rank near the bottom of the NFL in total yards per game (278.2) and points per game (18.4).
Eagles trying to piece together offensive line
Philadelphia’s recent offensive struggles have been compounded by major changes up front. Longtime right tackle Lane Johnson announced his retirement last week, guard Landon Dickerson is on injured reserve and Cam Jurgens was traded to Baltimore. The Eagles reportedly had just one opening-week offensive line starter available against Jacksonville.
The patchwork unit will face a Carolina defense that has surrendered 27.3 points and 399 yards per game through four contests.
Carolina vs. Philadelphia: A little extra fuel for the rivalry?
The Panthers aren’t the Eagles’ biggest rivals like the Giants, Cowboys or Commanders. But Philadelphia sports fans may be fired up to see a team from the Carolinas in their building this week after being trolled by the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Hurricanes, the reigning Stanley Cup champions, beat the Flyers 4-1 on Sunday, and Carolina’s social media team went viral for this post: “We’ve won more games in Philly in the last nine days than the Flyers, Eagles, and Phillies combined this month.”
As of Monday, the post had 3 million impressions on X, 64K likes (including one from NC Football News) and 6.7K reposts (including one from us as well).
The Panthers could certainly help pile on some more with a win in Philadelphia on Sunday.
