Week 8 of the North Carolina College Football Schedule will feature three days of games, including JMU at App State, ECU at Memphis, Western Carolina hosting Chattanooga for homecoming and UNC Pembroke entertaining Chowan. App State, ECU images courtesy ASU, ECU athletics communications.

It’s an unusual week for college football in North Carolina.

Five games involving teams from the Old North State will be played before Saturday, an entire conference is taking a breather and road trips dominate a Week 8 schedule that features only six North Carolina teams playing at home Saturday.

And some of those road trips are lengthy. NC State heads to the West Coast for a Friday night matchup at Stanford, Campbell travels north to Maine and Brevard treks to Montgomery, Alabama, to face Huntingdon.

The South Atlantic Conference has a near league-wide bye, leaving Wingate, Lenoir-Rhyne, Catawba and Mars Hill idle. Meanwhile, App State and East Carolina play Thursday night, followed by Duke, NC State and North Carolina Central on Friday.

Saturday’s in-state spotlight falls on Chapel Hill and Pembroke.

UNC will try to build on its recent momentum when Syracuse visits Kenan Stadium, while UNC Pembroke hosts a surprising Chowan team that enters the week atop the Conference Carolinas standings.

It’s an unconventional Week 8, but there’s plenty at stake across the state. Here is the full schedule, with start times and TV/streaming information.
