Former Barton College standout rusher Jordan Terrell recorded his first professional touchdown Friday night.

Terrell, playing for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League, found the end zone on a 24-yard pass from Chase Brice, a former Appalachian State, Duke and Clemson quarterback. Terrell did most of the work himself after catching a short dump off over the middle, juking multiple defenders on his way for the score.

Terrell, who was signed by BC as free agent in May and added to the active roster on Thursday, also rushed four times in the game, picking up 24 yards. His longest run of the day covered nine yards. BC lost the game, however, 33-17 to Toronto.

Terrell hails from Ramseur and played his high school football at Eastern Randolph. He had an All-American career for Division II Barton College, piling up 5,487 yards and 44 touchdowns. He had a 403-yard game in his collegiate finale last November, a couple of first downs shy of the D2 single-game record.

Barton revived its football program in 2020-21 after a seven-decade absence. The Bulldogs have been celebrating multiple players in the pros. Wide receiver Kameron Johnson made the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 53-man roster this season. He did not get a touch in the opener against Washington last Sunday.
