It’s hard to believe — it seems like we just started — but the North Carolina college football regular season will officially draw to a close this weekend.

Many teams have already completed their 2024 campaigns, but the FBS contingent from our state will play their final games before either preparing for bowl games or turning in the equipment until 2025.

The action begins Friday with East Carolina — having just named Blake Harrell as its new permanent head coach — hosting Navy.

Big Four rivals will collide as part of Saturday’s slate, with Duke visiting Wake Forest at noon, and NC State traveling to North Carolina at 3:30 p.m. Charlotte will send its seniors out with a home finale against UAB. App State meanwhile will visit familiar foe Georgia Southern.

The lone non-FBS team in action this weekend: Lenoir-Rhyne, which will be playing in round two of the Division II playoffs. The Bears host Virginia Union in what could be a high-scoring affair.

We here at NC Football News have enjoyed being part of your NC college football routine this season. We have great things planned for the off-season and 2025. Enjoy your final regular season weekend!
