North Carolina college football teams have been staples on Thursday and Friday night ESPN broadcasts this season.
East Carolina has played twice on Thursdays. App State has appeared on both Thursday and Friday, winning back-to-back contests over Coastal Carolina and James Madison. Charlotte took Tulane to overtime this past Friday, while Wake Forest, NC State and Duke all played under the Friday night lights in previous weeks.
ECU will continue the trend of showcasing the Old North State this week, starting the Week 10 North Carolina college football schedule with a home game Friday night against South Florida. The contest kicks off at 7:30 p.m. from Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium and will air on ESPN2.
So far, the non-Saturday slate has been unkind to the Pirates, who lost overtime contests to UAB and Memphis on Thursdays in October. Maybe the third time will be the charm.
The Saturday schedule features 26 games involving North Carolina college teams across multiple divisions. Duke at NC State headlines the FBS schedule, with App State and Wake Forest also enjoying home games.
Campbell (7-2) returns home to face Stony Brook in a key FCS matchup, while CAA partner North Carolina A&T will put a three-game win streak on the line at Monmouth, currently the top team in the conference.
The D2 regular season will come to a close for several North Carolina teams this weekend. Johnson C. Smith and Fayetteville State are in the thick of the chase for a spot in the CIAA’s expanded championship weekend. Chowan and UNC Pembroke continue to vie for spots in the upcoming Conference Carolinas Bowl.
The D3 schedule will feature a pair of in-state rivalry clashes – Methodist at Brevard and North Carolina Wesleyan at Greensboro. Meanwhile, our lone junior college team, Louisburg, will attempt to finish off a perfect 10-0 regular season in a neutral site game against a Georgia opponent.
Here is the full schedule for Week 10, including start times and TV/streaming information.
