More than once this season, we referred to UNC Pembroke football putting up video game-like offensive numbers.

It was for good reason. We charted all the top scoring performances from the 2024 North Carolina college football campaign, and the Braves showed up multiple times – including the top spot overall and five times in the top 15.

UNC Pembroke posted the 2024 high score in our state in a week 10 home game against West Virginia Wesleyan – 79 points. The 79-20 victory set a new school record for most points in a game. Quarterback Colin Johnson threw four TD passes, while JaQuan Kelly and Jaquan Albright accounted for two TDs each (VIEW THE OFFICIAL BOX SCORE HERE: UNC Pembroke 79, WV Wesleyan 20.)

UNCP scored 56 points in the first half, and that alone would have ranked in the top 15 for most points in a single game in North Carolina for the year.

Like the Braves, Davidson football scored 70 points in a game in 2024. The Wildcats won a wild 70-48 shootout over Stetson in week eight. At the time, this was the high score for the state at any level. Davidson rolled up 667 yards of total offense, with Mari Adams reaching the end zone three times (READ MORE HERE).

North Carolina Central had the third-best scoring output of 2024, thumping Virginia-Lynchburg 68-0 in week 7. That marked the largest shutout margin of the season.

UNC Pembroke, which averaged 43.5 points per game for the season, scored in the 60s three different times. The Braves beat West Liberty 67-20 in week seven, Concord 63-7 in week 12 and West Virginia State 62-17 in week nine. They also had a 58-point game, topping Frostburg State 58-17 in week 11.

NCCU fans won’t soon forget the Eagles’ 66-24 triumph over rival North Carolina A&T, which gave rise to “Rout 66” headlines. It was one of the most lopsided versions of the century-old Aggie-Eagle series.

Louisburg College, which played for a junior college national championship, appears in our list twice, scoring 66 points against Myrtle Beach Collegiate in week seven and 60 against the Brevard JV team in week nine

NC State reached a milestone against ACC competition, drubbing Stanford 59-28 in week 10. Charlotte notched 55 against rival East Carolina in week 6, while the Pirates rebounded to beat Temple 56-34 a few weeks later.

Here are the top 15 team scoring performances for the 2024 season.
