June 24 Update: Garner QB Christian Ormandy joins class

The Camels found their 2027 quarterback, getting a commitment from Garner High signal caller Christian Ormandy. The rising senior has been a starter since his freshman season and has amassed nearly 4,000 passing yards. Campbell now has commits from four Wake County prep powers: Cardinal Gibbons, Wake Forest, Millbrook and Garner.

June 23 Update: Campbell 2027 class has local flair

Campbell’s 2027 recruiting class continues to take shape with at least six known commitments following the June official visit period. The Camels added defensive lineman Patrick “PJ” Williams from South Carolina and Wake Forest High School standout Jayden Debnam during the final weekend before the NCAA dead period.

Campbell’s known commitments include three prospects from the Triangle area, highlighted by Williams, Millbrook linebacker Chase Sizer and Cardinal Gibbons offensive lineman Malek Griffin, as the staff continues to build a strong regional foundation for the 2027 class.

June 13 Update

Campbell’s 2027 recruiting class is off to an intriguing start, with the Camels securing commitments from prospects in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.

The early class is anchored by Cardinal Gibbons offensive lineman Malek Griffin, a 6-foot-5, 315-pound prospect regarded as one of Wake County’s top linemen in the 2027 cycle. Griffin helped lead the Crusaders to a deep playoff run in 7A while earning praise for his athleticism and physical tools.

The Camels also landed one of their most impressive commitments to date in Georgia cornerback Christian Hayes. The 6-foot-1 defensive back held 12 FBS offers, including Appalachian State and East Carolina, and brings elite track speed after helping Thomasville (GA) High School capture a state championship in the 4×100 relay.

Most recently, Campbell added offensive tackle Ames Oliver of Rock Hill, South Carolina. The 6-foot-6 lineman camped in Buies Creek earlier this month before announcing his commitment. Oliver carries a 4.5 GPA and gives the Camels another high-upside offensive line prospect with great reach as they continue to build the foundation of the 2027 class.

With camp and official visit season in full swing, Campbell appears positioned to add more commitments in the weeks ahead.

Future Transfer Tracker

Transfer activity for the 2027 recruiting cycle will be added following the 2026 season and when the transfer portal opens again in January 2027.

Campbell added several experienced transfers during the 2026 offseason, including former North Carolina Central kicker Kaleb Robison, former Mars Hill running back Jon Gullette and former East Carolina receiver Jyron Waiters.
