Campbell football has found its quarterback for the 2027 recruiting class.
Garner quarterback Christian Ormandy, a three-year starter with nearly 4,000 career passing yards, announced his commitment to the Camels on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Ormandy gives Campbell and head coach Braxton Harris an academically accomplished dual-threat quarterback who has started since his freshman season while leading the Trojans to three consecutive N.C. High School Athletic Association playoff appearances.
Harris has said he wants Campbell to win in-state recruiting and specifically the talent rich Triangle region. The Camels’ 2027 class currently has known commitments from four of Wake County’s powerhouse programs – Cardinal Gibbons (OL Malek Griffin), Millbrook (LB Chase Sizer), Wake Forest (ATH Jayden Debnam) and now Garner.
Ormandy has amassed 3,967 passing yards over 32 career games, throwing for 31 touchdowns. He also has rushed for 617 yards and 12 more scores.

Despite missing time during his junior season in 2025, Ormandy finished 136-of-213 passing for 1,715 yards and 15 TD throws against six interceptions. He completed 64 percent of his passes, and picked up another 449 yards and seven TDs on the ground.
Ormandy found his way into the Garner starting lineup as a 14-year-old freshman. The Trojans made the post-season, falling to Wake Forest in the opening round. The next season, Garner went 8-4 with Ormandy at the helm, advancing to the second round before running into Cardinal Gibbons.
This past season, Garner won nine games and took Cardinal Gibbons – the eventual 7A East runner-up – to the wire in the third round before falling 16-14.
Ormandy has a GPA of 4.469. Campbell was the first D1 school to offer back in Janury. He took an official visit to Buies Creek in early June. Per his social media, he also had offers from schools like Army, Charleston Southern, Mercer and Lenoir-Rhyne. He took a visit to Army in May.
What It Means: For a Campbell staff intent on winning more recruiting battles close to home, landing a proven quarterback from one of Wake County’s top programs is another encouraging sign that strategy is beginning to pay dividends.
