Appalachian State will try to get back on track Friday night when the Mountaineers travel to Coastal Carolina for a Sun Belt Conference matchup between familiar rivals.

App State (3-2, 0-1 Sun Belt) has dropped two consecutive games after opening the season with three straight victories. Coastal Carolina (2-4, 1-1), meanwhile, snapped a three-game losing streak with a 27-21 victory over Marshall last weekend.

The Mountaineers are slight favorites in a series that has swung toward Coastal Carolina in recent seasons. The Chanticleers have won four consecutive meetings and five of the last six after Appalachian State dominated the early years of the rivalry.
