It’s Halloween across the Old North State, and the schedule of North Carolina college football games today should provide plenty of treats (and hopefully not too many tricks).
There are 28 total games on the docket, one of the busiest Saturdays of the season.
Five of our seven FBS teams play at home today, hosting opponents from Florida, California, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Virginia. The marquee matchup will be the nightcap in Kenan Stadium as UNC hosts No. 1 Miami in primetime.
All FCS eyes will be on New York as the Campbell Camels – that’s the No. 12 ranked Campbell Camels for the uninitiated – visit Albany looking to make more history and stay in the CAA title hunt.
Our busiest division will be the D2 ranks, where North Carolina teams will host seven of the 11 games on the schedule. Johnson C. Smith and Fayetteville State are battling for spots in the CIAA’s championship weekend. Mars Hill still eyes a South Atlantic Conference crown, while Chowan hopes to play its way into the Conference Carolinas title game.
The next three weeks will feature a D3 in-state round robin. It starts today with Brevard hosting Greensboro. Finally, our lone junior college team will put an unbeaten record on the line in a neutral site game.

Spoiler alert? The South Atlantic Conference has been pure chaos this season. Catawba can induce some more by upsetting current leader Carson-Newman (7-1, 5-1) at home. Four league teams, including Catawba and Wingate hold 4-4 overall and 3-3 conference records.
