App State continues mastery over Charlotte: A three-plus hour storm delay didn’t slow Appalachian State at home against the 49ers. Malachi Singleton threw for 331 yards and two touchdowns, and the Mountaineers improved to 5-0 all-time against Charlotte. The 49ers got a late pick-six but couldn’t come all the way back.

Clemson rallied after a 2.5-hour storm delay to defeat the Heels 28-20, keeping North Carolina for earning its first road win in the series since 2001. North Carolina led much of the game, including 17-15 in the fourth when lightning halted play.

Ten of Adkins’ completions went to Dezmond Randolph, who picked up 181 yards and scored once. Terrell Jackson (94 yards) and Amir Alexander (93 yards) also had big receiving days.
Mars Hill picks off another in-state foe: Caden Hilemon intercepted Lenoir-Rhyne quarterback Wells Bettenhausen on the first drive of the game and the last, helping preserve a 15-7 Lions victory. Mars Hill improved to 3-0 with its latest win, 2-0 in South Atlantic Conference play.
