Temple just secured one of North Carolina’s most athletic 2026 quarterbacks — and one of its most productive. Brody Norman, a rising senior at Mooresville High School, committed to the Owls this weekend after a standout junior season and an electric spring testing circuit.

Norman led the Blue Devils to an 11-2 record and a Greater Metro Conference title last season – accounting for 2,543 passing yards, 657 rushing yards and 39 total touchdowns. He earned Conference Offensive Player of the Year honors, was a North Carolina Mr. Football nominee and now holds four school records.

In April, Norman dominated the Carolinas Coaches Combine in Hickory, posting eye-popping testing numbers:

  • 🏋️‍♂️ 43.6” vertical jump (event record)
  • 🏃‍♂️ 4.55 laser 40-yard dash
  • 🌀 4.06 shuttle
  • 🦘 10’4” broad jump
  • 📈 Clocked at 23 MPH on GPS tracking

“Dual threat with great feel in the pocket. He is an amazing athlete with great accuracy and can run. Drives defenses crazy,” longtime recruiting analyst Mike Farrell said.

Norman had picked up offers from a mix of FBS and FCS programs, including Wake Forest, App State, ECU, Charlotte, Western Carolina, Gardner-Webb, Elon, Campbell, Army and Old Dominion among others. But after his official visit to Philadelphia, Temple sealed the deal.

“I can’t begin to express the gratitude I have for this university and this opportunity ahead. Thank you Temple staff for this amazing weekend in Philly. I’ve loved every bit of it… I am more than pumped to announce my commitment to Temple University!!! Go Owls!” – Brody Norman on X

Norman becomes the latest high-profile North Carolina quarterback in the 2026 class to make his decision, joining Cardinal Gibbons’ Gannon Jones (Wake Forest), East Lincoln’s Grant Lawless (Wake Forest) and Clayton’s Aidan Smalls (Rice). Mooresville teammate Gavin Barber, a standout tight end, committed to Appalachian State in May.
