UNC Pembroke quarterback Colin Johnson set multiple school passing records, and North Carolina Central’s defense sent Virginia-Lynchburg backwards nearly half a football field in rushing yards.

Bryson Sims (Catawba) set a new season’s best for our state with 15 kicker points. Sims made four field goals in a game against Carson-Newman and booted three extra points.
Jesse Veins (Louisburg) was the first player in our state this season to attempt and make nine extra points in a game. Veins also made one field goal to finish with 14 kicker points.

514 – Despite battling a foot injury this season, UNCP’s Colin Johnson unleashed fury with his right arm Saturday in a 67-20 win over West Liberty. Johnson finished 29-of-43 for 514 yards, 7 TDs, 2 INTs
The yardage and TDs are the most in the state this season. The previous best for passing yards had been set by UNC’s Jacolby Criswell (475) against James Madison. Shaw’s Christian Peters and Brevard’s Ethan Beamish had the previous season’s best for passing TDs with five each.

328 – Jalen Ferguson (Lenoir-Rhyne): 25-of-36 for 328 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT in a win over Newberry.
