Catawba College has added a new opponent to its 2025 football schedule. The Indians have announced they will host Southern Connecticut State on Saturday, Sept. 27 at Shuford Stadium. Kickoff is 4 p.m.
The first-ever meeting between Catawba and the Owls will replace the Limestone game originally scheduled for this date. Limestone University shut its doors at the end of the spring semester, ending the Saints football program.
Southern Connecticut State plays in the Northeast 10, a Division II conference. The Owls finished 4-6 overall and 3-5 in league play a year ago. Joe Loth coaches SCSU football.
Catawba is coming off a 3-8 campaign, 2-7 in D2 South Atlantic Conference play. Coach Tyler Haines’ team will open the 2025 season on Aug. 30 at home against Ferrum. The Indians will play nine conference games this fall, finishing with its annual rivalry game against Lenoir-Rhyne – this year in Hickory – on Nov. 15.
